The Park Regis Piermonde, Cairns are large, luxury apartments and are a case in point that size matters.
The Park Regis Piermonde is centrally located in the Tropical Far North Queensland city of Cairns. Cairns is the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef, one of the seven wonders of the natural world and an Australian treasure. It is also the starting point to the Daintree Rainforest, a UNESCO World Heritage site. It is not surprising then that domestic and international travellers flock to this city.
The apartments are located on Lake Street, opposite the Cairns Cruise Liner Terminal in Trinity Inlet, except the cruise ships do not land here, as the inlet needs to be dredged for this to happen. Instead, they berth north of Cairns at Yorkeys Knob. This leaves Trinity Inlet to pleasure craft and some smaller commercial vessels, and along from the apartments are the docks where the boats leave to explore the Great Barrier Reef.
I tell you all of this because this is the million dollar view that you get from the apartment… as soon as you walk in. It looks over to the mountains that are visible from all over Cairns.
When Size Matters
When you visit Cairns, it is an excellent idea to get an apartment. The Park Regis Piermonde Apartments are huge. With balconies across the front looking at the ever changing scenery, there is also an entirely self-contained kitchen and a 6 seater dining room.
There are 3 bedrooms with two of them going onto the balcony. One of the bedrooms leads to a semi-enclosed balcony to give protection from the rain because it does rain in this tropical city. The beds are really comfortable and that is a big thing.
There is one bathroom with a spa and dual vanities, another bathroom with shower and toilet and another separate toilet. There is a laundry with a washing machine and dryer. The living area has lounge suites a sound system, TV and DVDplayer and one of the other bedrooms also has a TV. The 3rd bedroom has an office set up with views over the harbour.
There are also 2 bedrooms and studio apartments available according to your needs, so see the website for all details.
The location of The Park Regis Piermonde Apartments is perfect. Everything that you need to reach in Cairns can be done on foot. The Esplanade, the hub of Cairns, Night Markets, Marlin Marina and the Reef Casino. It is also within walking distance, as are innumerable shops, cafes and restaurants.
There is a pool as well to cool off after exploring for the day.
One concern but not a biggie
We loved the size and the location of this immaculately clean apartment. We loved that it had everything that we needed. My only complaint is that the Free Wi-fi is 250mb a day. As we were staying 3 days, we received our 750mb in one go, and I had used ours in less than a day. As travel writers, we are heavy users of the internet, but I can imagine that we are not the only ones. We don’t download movies or anything that others may. So be a little aware, that this needs to be remembered. Would this stop us recommending the Park Regis Piermonde, Cairns? Not at all. The apartment is luxurious; it is in an excellent location, and the views are magnificent.
The Park Pregis brand is owned and managed by Australian-based StayWell Hospitality Group, an independently owned hotel management group in the Asia Pacific.
Park Regis is the upscale brand, and for discerning customers who like beautiful things as we do. We both agree that it is stunning apartment.

We were fortunate enough to visit Australia, Sydney and Melbourne, but we didn’t make it to Cairns. Our son has visited though and he very much enjoyed it. Looks lovely.
It is a lovely place. We have written about Cairns the city itself. which will be coming out soon.
What a beautiful place. What did you do with all that space? 250mb limit per day for Wi-Fi? That’s barely enough, especially for internet addicts like me, they should re-think that limit.
We had so much room it was decadent. I do think that the 250mb has to be reconsidered in this day and age.
We are yet to make it to Queensland yet. It is a pitty it is such a long way to get there. But we will visit one day. We like the idea of apartments for our holidays. It is great to have a bit of extra space and to have the flexibility of doing your own meals when you want to.
Happy travels, and thank you for stopping by my blog today.
Apartments are great. I love the idea of having a laundry, kitchen and the space. I think we are drifting towards apartments always.
