I love food! I live to eat rather than eat to live, especially while traveling!
Ditto Susan and food is travel and travel is food
What a vibrant food scene in Braddon! Would love to visit (and taste).
It is a vibrant and much needed scene in Canberra.
Wow, I’d heard the food in Canberra was amazing but this list is just astounding. How lucky the locals are to have such an array of diverse, hip eateries. And I’m happy to have learned a new word (autolyse)!
Isn’t that a cool word, autolyse. Gordon finished his burger and there it was written on the wrapper. Now we all know something new.
What some awesome places you have to dine out in Canberra. Just my silly preconception but I wouldn’t have associated Canberra with food in the way I might say, Adelaide. So it’s great that you’ve highlighted so many lovely looking restaurants and cafes. Wok It Up sounds like fun! And I’d love to visit the Paleo Factory.
Jo, Canberra is doing some amazing things, and brining them to the public attention is good.
I keep over-flying OZ. I really must stop! Especially to nosh! Love the quirky decor. Never tire of talking about good places to eat. 🙂
Definitely stop in Australia. Not only is Canberra a foodies paradise, the whole country is.
What an amazing variety of cuisines in Braddon! And I love the idea of a Paleo Cafe.
I can tell you, with all of the controversy over the Paleo diet, we were curious. The food is amazing.
Oh, I love a good food journey, even if virtual. Thanks for this one to Braddon, Canberra. Great food experiences can be made such fun when combined with art, clever decor and a little quirkiness, too. “Debacle” is certainly an interesting name for a business that you want to succeed. Looks like they don’t have anything to worry about though.
I also love that they have the amazing names and the decor to match. It is so competitive in this area, but I also hope that they all succeed. I love diversity.
A classy easy way to get a flavor of the cuisines available in Canberra. The first photo of that yellow seater caught my attention right away (I am a Xanthophile) and then that yellow well-traveled RV mural at 7 Lonsdale St. And then a yellow food truck, etc. Bright eateries; good food cannot be far behind.
I am with you, any thing that is bright and colourful automatically appeals to me.
What an extensive and varied collection of restaurants in Braddon. It must be tough to choose.
It is, though in we did our best to try as many as we could and had friends and family do others.
The level of chic must be very high in Braddon, Canberra! They all look studiously hip! But doesn’t that make them expensive as well? I love the mural in your first photo!
It is very hipster and the prices reflect this. For some reason prices are higher in Canberra than say Sydney. Maybe all of the public servants get paid too much.
Wow, three restaurants I can easily eat at in one town – these days that’s amazing. I haven’t seen a Paleo restaurant before reading this page – of course, I haven’t looked. I don’t eat Paleo, but none of the things I can’t eat are on the diet. (And most sushi works for me too.) Now I have a reason to head to Canberra! BTW – I love the style of this page with the big photos and just key words.
Thanks Rhonda, we were amazed at the diversity of food offerings and the Paleo cafes look and smell amazing.
