Bayonne, New Jersey
– Outside my Front Door
My husband and I, have lived in this lovely city of Bayonne for almost three years now. Its a perfect semi-suburb residential area and is just a bridge away from New York city. Its proximity to Manhattan makes it a desirable place to live for people who work in the city and that was one of the reasons we moved here. And after living here for some time, we have many more reasons to love this city and am happy that we decided to move here.
Bayonne, as part of a peninsula has beautiful views of Newark & New York Bays and the strait of Kill van Kull lies at the lower tip of the city. The Bayonne Bridge connects this city to Staten Island and is a wonderful sight to see from the beautiful Mayor Dennis P Collins Park which runs along this strait – creating a great space for the residents to enjoy for all seasons.
The park is just 2 blocks away from our place and we love coming here in the evenings for long walks. Even during summers, its wonderful to spend time here as there are plenty of trees to provide shade and the breeze along the water is always refreshing.
Along the Hudson Shore
We can drive up along the shore, and just a few minutes away is Liberty State Park in Jersey City, from where ferries take tourists to the Statue of Liberty & Ellis Island. Its an unforgettable view and one can see this iconic statue up close.
Just a little further up along the Hudson lies Newport – another beautiful waterfront and it affords spectacular views of New York City skyline. We usually come here with our camera in tow to capture the breathtaking panorama.
Not to forget, from here Manhattan is just a 20 minutes train ride away and we are never too far from the most happening place in the city – Times Square. Its a place where you can forget about all the other things in life and just enjoy as one among the buzzing crowds.
Its great to live so close to New York city and also to enjoy a relaxed life in a quiet little city like Bayonne.
Love this! I’m a Jersey girl, born and bred, so I was happy to see a blogger featured living in NJ 🙂 The views from Bayonne are beautiful! NJ is pretty perfect for having some more space, greenery, and quiet while still close enough to NYC.
I am thinking that Jersey has a lot to offer.
