We are having a great run having coming in at #1 on the Top 1000 Travel Blogs this week, being given the Liebster Award recently, and now the delightful Norwegian travel blogger Bente, has named us for the Versatile Travel Blogger Award.
Thank you so much Bente, of Travel with all senses who has a very interesting site and has done some amazing travels.

Now, 7 things you may not know about us:
- Gordon loves sci-fi movies and books and it bothers him that I have never even seen any Star Wars movies, though I do like Dr Who, so that sort of counts. Hope the new Dr. is good, I am a bit worried.
- We are highly competitive in everything to do with sports or even board games. There are no holds bar – despite Gordon being good at sports, I can still kick his butt at tennis, he is disagreeing with this, but in fairness he is a much better skier than me. He has no chance at backgammon however. I wouldn’t want him to give me an advantage just because he is a male and twice my size.
- On the spur of the moment we flew across the world to see a total eclipse of the sun in Turkey, purely because Gordon was watching the sun rise on his way to work and somehow made a weird connection. In saying that, I had read about a fire festival in a traditional Japanese village where they also had excellent powder and that started our annual pilgrimage to Nozawa Onsen.
- I pick up random people wherever I go, not that Gordon is always impressed with this skill. When we were at an art show I got talking to this man who was one of the major artists who gave us a behind the scenes tour and we met many famous artists. Ok, he didn’t mind this but he was a little cranky when I was talking to a man at the snow last year and it turns out he was just released from jail, but actually is quite a famous snowboard video maker. It’s not my fault that I attract different people, in fact it does make for some very interesting times.
- We both love the beach, which is where we live but we are also both snow people. Not just the skiing but the whole magical snow experience. When we are at home we walk on the beach twice a day, but always head for a coffee shop, because we are total coffee snobs.
- I love ancient history and have taught Ancient Egyptian and Roman history forever. For any of you history buffs, I particularly like the female pharaoh Hatsehpsut. So history is always incorporated into our travels.
- We both love art, and I am now obsessed with street art and street food and what it tells us about a place. Maybe there is something in that for all of us.
Now it is up to our new Versatile Travel Blogger Award winners, to do the same. Again, thank you Bente, and we look forward to reading all of the new award winners 7 things about themselves.
Really enjoyed your bio in note form! Love following your travels, have you been here to Queensland, Australia? We d love to have you in our Sunshine State!
Thanks and yes we have been to Queensland. Gordon was born in Herberton in FNQ. We need to get back there soon.
Hey there, You’ve done an incredible job. I will definitely digg it and personally recommend to my friends.
I’m sure they’ll be benefited from this website.
Very nice to read some about you and get to know you more. Female pharaoh Hatsehpsut is one of my favorites as well. Egypt is on my bucket list, but at the moment I think its a bit too much going on there.
Thank you Bente, I am worried that if I go to Egypt it will ruin my romantic illusions 🙂
